Have just bought a secondhand 8310........
It came with a Virgin UK Sim.....but on screen it says T-Mobile........
If I put a UK Vodafone Sim in it recognises the sim but will not dial out or
receive incoming calls (it will however send text messages)
Is it locked to T-Mobile/Virgin?
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Pete

1. Depends on the handset's firmware (i.e. whether it is set to read CSP
data or not), purely cosmetic in this case.
2. If handset was locked to T-M, the 8310 shouldn't get to the network
display with a Voda SIM. After entering a PIN, it shoud display "SIM card
not accepted".
OP should try the Voda SIM in a different handset to see if they get the
same problem, if they do then they need to get in touch with Voda.
Hope this helps,
