Is it possible to use UK Vodafone GPRS roaming in Florida? If so, is it
expensive? Do you need to change any settings, or is it fully automatic?

If not, does anyone know if you can buy a local PAYG SIM with GPRS service
    included?

    Thanks.

If you're not on PAYG then yes, depends on your definition of expensive,
    should be automatic

    http://tinyurl.com/p79u has the details.

I don't know anything about your question specifically. I'm assuming
that there is only one Florida and that's in the USA. If so, you need
to ensure that your phone is a tri-band phone, or at least capable of
    GSM1900.

You will not be able to buy a local SIM in the USA at this time with DATA
capability. ATT Wireless has a product called Go Phone which has DATA
capabilitry, but its not a true PAYG, its more of a Hybrid Post Pay. You
need to have a bank acct or credit card to deduct from automatically.
Probably more trouble then its worth. The other carrier and the largest USA
GSM, for now ATTT will eventually win as soon as they finish their system,
is TMOBILE and there PAYG has NO DATA capability. A good site for PAYG plans
    is http://reachme.at/PrePaidWireless

Cingular Wireless also has GSM service in Florida. I have no idea what
they offer on their GSM network. Cingular and ATT have better GSM
coverage throughout Florida than does T-Mobile.

all automatic. I was there with a blackberry on t-mobile and was picking
up mail (over GPRS) without a hiccup. I had my Vodafone sim in my P800
and had no trouble browsing the web over GPRS. Not sure of the cost
though, well at least until the bill comes in...
