    Hi,

Last week I bought a brand new nokia 6310i to replace my old, but great,
    6110.
It works fine accept that sometimes I get 'Sim card rejected' and have to
    restart the phone.
I can reproduce this problem by trying to call a phone number a few times.
eg. call a random phone number let it ring a few times, hang up, call again,
    hang up etc...
Most of the times after calling 2 or 3 times I get the 'Sim card rejected'
    message.
I also tried when it is in my nokia carkit, but this gives the same problem.
Doing other stuff on the phone, like playing games, doesn't seem the
    generate the error.

I've been looking on google and newsgroups about this problem but I can only
    find different causes and solutions.
Going from putting a small paper between the battery and the phone to
    upgrading firmware.
It also seems that it is also occuring on other nokia models.

So I'd like to know if somebody really knows what is causing this problem
    and what is the solution.

If it persists I'll return the phone this weekend. But I'd like to avoid
    that.

    Tanx,
    ieVel

Chances are if you haven't upgraded in a while you have an old sim card -
    get it updated

My sentimiments exactly, OP arrange a SIM swap with your SP if you've had it
    for a long time.

Might be (they ain't particularly made to last). Worth cleaning the contacts
on the sim card in case they've got a bit dirty, it might help.
