I got my stephson a new SIMM card for his school report. He secured his
Nokia 3410 for stealing with a security code. How can we unlock that darn
thing, because it won't accept his new SIMM card otherwise. He says he
hasn't changed or put in a code but it still doesn't work. I called his new
provider (Telfort) and they said to try with 1234 or 2345, but nothing works
until now. We tried the PUK 1 code allready, and also PUK 2 but doesn't
    work.

    Please help,

    Hans.

    Standard security code is 12345.

Do you mean the security code or the SIM card's PIN code..? They are
    different and serve different purposes.

No, just the security code of the cell phone. We inserted a new SIM card but
kept asking for a security code ((

    Greetz and thanx,

    Hans.

The security code locks the phone to the most recently used SIM card, upon
entering the security code for each SIM that is inserted, it won't get asked
again. This works for the 5 most recently inserted SIM cards.
Default security code is 12345, if it is changed, you need a datacable +
Logomanager software, demo version will work fine, to find it out.

Else take it to get unlocked at a local phone shop, however purchasing a
data cable is usually cheaper than getting your phone professionally
    unlocked.

This is a slightly misleading statement, the security code does not
specifically lock the phone to any one SIM card, what it does depends on
the settings in the SETTINGS > SECURITY SETTINGS > SECURITY LEVEL menu. If
(and only if) this is set to PHONE then the phone will ask for the
security code if a SIM card the phone hasn't been used with before is
used. The phone remembers the last 5 SIM cards.

As the 3410 is a DCT3 phone, this should work ok.

He did say 'phone won't accept new SIM card' so answer was directed for him
    not in general

    > As the 3410 is a DCT3 phone, this should work ok.

Again, answer tailored for the question
