    I'm thinking about getting a data cable I have a 8310.. I dont know
    why I even want one.. I just do. Anyone want to shine some light my
    way on pros & cons..

    Yeah well thats the thing I know I dont need it I just it. I think it
    could be useful, but I very well know it wont be useful.

    well..but if you have lots of different model phones with IR support ur
    better off with an IR dongle

    well i'd currently have to get it imported from England and that would
    cost me twice the price of 2 usb cables myself.

    Who said USB? about $30-40au on ebay for a motherboard header type/serial IR
    ... thats like 15-20us

    Some serial dongles aren't very compatible with WinXP... the only serial
    IRDA dongle i'd recommend would be ones made by actisys
