    Hi, just another quick question.

I find that my Nokia 8250 Inbox messages are not being sorted by data, time.
Is this common? When i try and search for a message I last recieved, it is
neither positioned first in the list nor last in the list. I practically
have to read all my messages to find it. Is there some setting which does
    this?

    Thanks!!
    James

every phone i've ever had has sorted by date, I don't know what your phone
is doing but it's not quite normal. both of my 8250's worked normally.

Re: 8250 question about Inbox messages sorted by date

well i have my Inbox containing the following data/time stamped messages:

    Column 1: Message number
    Column 2: Month
    Column 3: Date
    Column 4: Time

    1-2-1 October 7 18:59
    1-2-2 October 7 21:38
    1-2-3 October 7 21:49
    1-2-4 October 7 22:46
    1-2-5 October 8 08:40
    ..
    ..
    ..
    1-2-12 October 11 07:03
    1-2-13 October 11 22:24
    1-2-14 October 2 21:56
    1-2-15 October 4 22:14
    1-2-16 October 5 21:04
    1-2-17 October 7 06:55
    1-2-18 October 7 16:30

So the messages are ordered by date/time. However I thought the messages
would be reindexed so the last message I got was at position 1-2-1 ... not
    at 1-2-13

    Or is this normal?

    Cheers,
    James

Well, actually the msgs are arranged as their respective positions on the
    sim, no?

Re: 8250 question about Inbox messages sorted by date

Okay...long explanation..here goes.. Lets say on a new SIM, ur 5 messgages
(in perfect date time order are like this)

    >= you deleted the message from 2.1.2000

ur phone will not rearrange the messages on ur SIM. it will remain like a c
    d and e are filled.
=>so new message comes in, dated 3.3.2000

    now its like:

    a) 1.1.2000
    b) 3.3.2000 <<<< its not in order. this is normal :-)
    c) 3.1.2000
    d) 4.1.2000
    e) 5.1.2000

is it what u meant in the OP?
