    | Not on Orange PAYG it won't, they don't allocate a number till you call to
    | register. Contract phones come with the number on the box though.

it has 6666 in the number...... not bad, and close to mine
    (last four digits 9999)

still, I think that was a one-off, all my PAYG numbers have been
****e.....had to sign up on a plan, and then beg, nag, pleed etc......till
    Optus caved.

Not always, I've had some good ones in the past. I don't understand why
all the networks both PAYG and contract don't allocate numbers on
registration, it would save a lot of numbers from being wasted when people
port numbers from elsewhere or upgrade and want to keep their number.

Best number I ever had was a PAYG one on Cellnet as it then was, 07xxx
888166. A mate had 07xxx 111911 as well, both these were random on boxes
    out of the shop.

With the 3510i, if the carrier provides it, there is a menu choice
under Phonebook called My Numbers which should show the number on
the SIM. The Phonebook may be called Names on the right side of the
top screen. Once you get it, you can program it into the Welcome
Banner under Messages menu to display each time you turn on the
    phone.

You can search for "Nokia 3510i" in Google or your preferred search
engine to find an interactive guide.
