And hi again,
what's the better choice to get my 6610 connected
to my PC? USB-cable or IR-connection (which I
could use for my palm as well)?
I don't have a notebook (with IR eye) thus I would
have to buy an IR-adaptor seperatly, too.

IR is therefore your prime choice - two birds with one stone.
Cable connections are generally more reliable, they don't get blocked or
time out, but IR is generally more convenient.
