My 6610 has V4.18 and has lately been freezing and turning itself off and on
again - is this firmware related?
What has the latets V5.52 (?) added?
Also, are the Nokia service centres that update the firmware nice, and will
they back up all games, ringtones to save losing them - or will I need to
back them up using a data cable?
Thanks

just got my 6610 on 5.52 last week... CPW didn't actually offer it (they
said their download was corrupted or something), but i nagged and nagged,
and they said they'd try "the system", and they did it

Re: 6610 firmware probs
Just thought I would answer the missed out question!
Software updates WILL erase all data on the phone. Also if you have had the
phone unlocked by a hardware clip software update will RE-LOCK the phone to
the original network. If that is the case visit www.gavincol.co.uk and until
the end of the month unlock codes are free.

Not necessarily, but it is likely. Most NSC's will not back-up data, but if
the phone is upgraded by an independent, it'll depend entirely upon the box
used - eg. Prodigy insists on uploading the relevent content package,
Griffin doesn't.

Absolute rubbish. This was only ever the case when software patching was
used to unlock phones that bypassed the lock codes intead of actually
unlocking them.
Also, would you please try not to top-post.
