6301i firware upgrade

My Nokia support want charge me Aus$44 just to upgrade my crappy firmware on
my 6310i.

Can this be done at home via a PC? How? Where can I download the firmware?

It can, but need special cable and hardware, and software. last I looked it
cost the same at least, so you may as well get it done professionally.

Firmware downloads are a little scarce, they used to be quite commonplace,
but now there seems to be a clamp on it, may still be there, but will take
some finding
