Hi need a little help if anyone can. my mate had an 5210 on orange for 11
months out of his original 12 months contract and then cancelled it on the
last month. Orange have now blocked the phone but it is unlocked to work on
any network. I would like to buy the phone off him but need to get it
unblocked. when I put my t-mobile sim card in it works but wont ring out or
let people ring in and I know it is blocked. Can I get this done online or
on here I have the imei number but haven't any pc data cables or software to
do it my self if it can be done. don't forget it is unlocked but I need it
unblocked
cheers Dave

As it's blocked, there is nothing you can legally do about it. And don't
consider going the illegal route, that can earn you five years in prison AND
a potentially unlimited fine. In short, he didn't fulfil the terms of the
contract, and the phone is no use now other than as a doorstop - don't buy
it off him.

legally, orange should NOT have blocked it, after 12 months of the contract
the handset is considered legally his, orange have no right to imei bar the
handset because it has not reported it lost /stolen. imei barring is
supposed to stop criminals using stolen phones, not to stop the owner
selling it on, HOW GAY OF ORANGE
my advise would be to get the legal owner of the phone to contact orange and
have them unbar the imei, if they say they cannot do this because the mobile
number is now disconnected tell them to reconnect the mofo, unblock it and
then disconnect it!!!!

Wrong, the handet is his property from day one, the phone has nothing to do
with the contract.
