I take it its a series 60 phone?

It looks nice, now people have had the chance to try them, what's it really
    like?

    Good and bad points?

    Cheers

No idea; I really want one; but they are way too expensive at the moment.

    What Justin said.
I was impressed by the quality of the screen. Really, it's a marvel of
technology. The battery lasts discretely long.
Everything you would want from a Series 60 phone is there. I think Series 60
in general has very good potential being in the market interface between
Series 40 (which is poor in features) and the new Series 90 (which is
feature-full, but big as a Communicator).
Negative things? I hope it's not as fragile as it seems. I fear that I will
scratch the camera lens behind on the first impact.

All in all, an excellent Christmas present for everyone!

No bad points, all good points.
Screen is excellent, camera is good, this is my first symbian phone and i
don't think anything would do now.
Basically, the more i play with my 6600, the more i love it.
Only £34.99 with contract @ onestopphoneshop as well.

Well you've all convinced me! Looking at the current prices on Ebay for
a 7250 - they're still going for couple hundred! I took the plunge and
bought a sim free 6600 from a trustworthy seller for £360 all inc. I'll
flog my 7250 on Ebay - that'll help off set the money spent on the 6600
    )

Thanks for all your opinions gents.

    Cheers

I know, but to get it at that price you need a contract of about £35 a
    month! :s

Yeah but I get 200 xnet minutes + 100 sms free.
I have always been on the 200 mins tarrifs in the past anyway as I use my
    phone quite alot.

but its nothing to worry about.

I currently have an old Vodafone 200 minutes anytime plus 50 texts for £28

Last year I got my 7210 for free with the above. My contract is 13 months
    old and I want the 6600, hmm £30.99 does't seem too bad...decisions!

Personally I've been using the online O2 PAYG 300 free text messages a
month tariff and I just buy the phone from 'trust worthy' (that being the
main word) Ebay sellers. Last phone I bought was a 7250, which I'll now
be selling to help off set the £360 I've paid for my 6600. Never had a
    single problem with the 7250.

If you look at it, you could buy the 6600 on a £35 p/m minimum 12 months
contract, that works out at £420 you've paid after 12 months whereby
officially you only 'own' the phone after that 12 months. Whilst its
easier to do it that way, kinda like buying it on credit I guess, you
could have saved yourself £60+ and bought it out right, yours to own
    immediately, off of Ebay!

This is the way I've done things for a long time now, much easier then
geting into a contract IMO. The 6600 I've just bought is brand new,
boxed with a ceritficate of manufacturers warranty. Can't be bad for
    £360 sim free.

Yeah but £360 sim free will still cost more by the time you've added however
much credit you will use in a year.

But the same applies to the £35 per month tariff. If you go beyond £35 per
month, its costing more again. I only ever put on £10 credit a month -
never go above that as most of my phone usage is via text - which are free,
only calling time and MMS come out of that £10 credit each month.

In my case, if I work out, I've bought my 6600 for £360, sold my 7250 for
£200 which offsets the cost of the 6600 to £160 plus £120 for my top ups
for 12 months, that only comes to £280! Like I said, that's my individual
case/example which IMO is more beneficial for me.

but surely you lost money on the 7250?

    How about this: Get a £29.99 6600 for 6 months on a £30.99 tariff =£185.94
change down to Off Peak 600 with 250 SMS for £13.99 for 6 months =£83.94

    therefore: £29.99 + £185.94 + £83.94 = £299.87

Not bad for a phone with 200 cross net minutes for the first 6 months, £12
worth of MMS for the first 6 months and then 600 Off peak minutes for the
    remainder?

    Sold for £200 - I only paid £250 off Ebay!! A £50 loss ain't bad.

Nah, I'd still rather buy out right rather then having more money debited
out of my account every month.

Just my personal preference though ;o)
