I noticed that the phone does not sound as good as the 6200, but I
attributed that to TDMA vs. GSM. It does not sound bad, but it could be
better. However the fact that the 6560 can consistently make, receive,
and not drop calls makes up for it for me. I have not tried to compare
it directly to another TDMA phone.
Scroll button seems fine to me, though it is pretty stupid that they
took off the side volume control and you have to use the scroll button
for that. I agree that screen updating seems a tad slower than it
should, but not really a big deal (once I learned not to accidently turn
off the phone from pressing the top profile/power switch too long).
All musical ring tones on all phones sound inane and irritating to me.
What irks me about the 6560 though is that they do not include "Ring
Ring" as one of the options -- all the ones in it are musical. I find
Do-mi-so to be the least irritating of them.
However, what really makes the 6560 to not be what it is made out to be
is this, just in from Nokia this morning...

Dear Matt,
Thank you for e-mailing Nokia's Contact Center.
We understand that it is important to have software for synchronizing
your contacts and apologize for the confusion about this issue for your
Nokia 6560 phone.
We have just received confirmation that there will be no version of PC
Suite for the Nokia 6560 phone. It has taken some time to get
confirmation because this phone model has an infrared feature for
transmitting data. Infrared for the Nokia 6560 phone is designed for
sending business cards to a compatible mobile phone and that will be the
limit for sending data to and from this phone model. Nokia will not have
an alternate way to synchronize phone contacts.
If you have any additional questions, please contact us.
Thank you for choosing Nokia for your mobile needs.

Oops, that may be the clincher. Too many contacts to key-in manually... If
I have to do that, anyway, then a "non-Nokia" or even a different provider
are not all that different. Too bad :-( I wonder what brains made *that*
decision, to include the IR port and limit its functionality by 99%. Duh
:-(
BTW, had a dropped call already, this morning, and took me a couple of tries
to initiate a different call. It could be the location, I don't know.
Although I I haven't had similar problems before. Hmm...

I appreciate finding this out. Using IR to sync contacts was one of the =

I transferred all of my contacts one by one from my 6200 with the "Send
Business Card" feature. Better than keying them all, but still annoying.
It is quite possible that Oxygen Software or Logomanager will eventually
include support for this phone, but who knows.

Yeah, unfortunately, my 8260 has not IR port (and it's dead anyway). That's
why the IR port on the 6560 is waht I was really looking forward to. But
the more I use the 6560, the more annoyed I'm getting with the sound. I'm
starting to wonder why Nokia would make a phone with such lousy sound! When
anyone is talking to me on the phone, there is a tin/can, echo-like effect
at the end of each word that makes hard for me to understand them. I have
to really strain to do so. And, I like the form factor and looks of the
phone... What is one supposed to do :-(

Unbelivable, No software for the 6560. Well glad my 30 day return
period has not expired. Nokia you have made a big mistake, here!
Software is essential to my phone needs and since this phone will not
support it, I will not own this phone!
