I have tried both SmartDCT4calc and UnlocksmithDCT4calc, they both generate
the same unlock codes, but 1,5 and 7 wont unlock the phone.
    Any ideas.
    TIA

Just tried my O2 sim in my new Vodafone 7250i.
    It's not locked.

Every phone I've ever bought on T-Mobile has NOT been locked. Had four now,
    all contracts. Latest a 7250i.

Are all contracts not locked, or is it just T-Mobile, or is it just T-Mobile
contracts, or is it just me?

Didn't get them from CPW by any chance? CPW regularly supply generic GSM
stock for T-Mobile contracts. As for your other questions, nearly all PAYG
handsets are locked, with Orange and T-Mobile handsets nearly always locked.
O2 almost never lock handsets, and Vodafone lock all Voda Live! phones.

Dunno about Locking, but I used my contract vodaf , to get a 7210 - as an upgrade - last year, girlfriends xmas pressie - she put
her Orange PAYG sim in, and it worked no probs. All the WAP and gprs settings were set to vodaf settings, but she had no use for
this anyway. but orange sim still working away in the wee 7210.
Upgraded myself just yesterday to a 7250i , had been using a 3330 , gprs is a godsend! (dreads opening my bill when it comes
    though!)
