i would say theres a few nokias which deserve "classic" status. 6310i
would have to win hands down for best solid workhorse business phone.
now i've never owned one, but i've sold many, would have 2 b the 3310,
dead easy 2 use and do what most people want from a phone and doesnt
have a silly price. after reading this post originally, managed 2 pick
up a brand new 8810 off ebay, and its awesome, just for the "matrix"
status ) though the version of it with the automatic sliding flip
which is the proper matrix one was only available in the us, i've been
reliably informed. and lastly, despite its software faults, would have
to be the 8310, good little phone. anyways, thats my thoughts on the
    topic )

The "original classic" Nokia, especially in Europe was 2110-first high
quality mobile already familiar functions like large phone memory,
different ringintones, caller id, calendar etc. It made Nokia famous
and respected mobile phone manufacturer. And dont forget 1611- bulky,
    yes, but with amazing
100h standby-time. 3110 is the most sold Nokia phone -over 100 million
units, a classic too. And I would say that 3650 is classic too since
it is so good and its price is reasonable.
