voice message alerts

hi all,

does anyone else on Orange have trouble getting text alerts when a voice
message is left for them??

I don't know when I stopped getting this service...it could be since I've
had my 6600 but I fail to see why this would make any difference.

and orange have so far been completely useless with a solution.

Just wondering whether anyone else had experienced this.

Don't know about voicemail but I've not been getting SMS alerts for
incoming email to my Orange email account recently. Well I have if the
message is addressed directly to the O address but only me and Orange know
it, all mail is normally forwarded from my website address in order to get
the SMS alerts..! Orange send me the usual "our engineers are aware of the
problem" reply but nothing gets done.

Also I don't receive SMS messages sent from the Orange website to one of
my three Orange numbers; the other two are ok but one number just doesn't
get the messages, when I *know* they've been sent. I also don't always get
delivery reports for messages sent from that phone either, very strange.

Just what is going on, Orange..??!

haven't been receivig txt alerts is because I'm using a different
handset....I fail to see what difference this makes

Strange, don't see that one either. In any case, I'm using the same phone
I've been using since July, so it's not that, whatever it is..!

I have been told it is a problem with the first version of the 6600 phone
software hence the delay of the "official" launch on Orange. I am also able
to make calls but not get incoming calls on my Line 2 service.

There may be a software update in January but this involves returning the
phone to a Nokia Service centre.

Had I known this I wouldn't have bought the phone sim free.

Ivor/Alistair,

Did you get to the bottom of this? I'm having the same problems with a
Nokia 7210 on a PAYG T-Mobile SIM...
