I am using a Nokia 6340i. I actually don't care for this phone due to it's
seeming lack of customizability but it came free so what can you do.
Anyway.
Months ago when I got it new I went looking for ways to get new ring tones
for my phone for as cheaply as possible (free). I found out I could text
message myself a ringtone, so after doing some checking around I finally
figured out how to do it and when I tested sending a ringtone to my
Brother's identical phone it worked. However I can't seem to send them to
my phone.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or help on this subject,
searching through google on ringtones or anything remotely related to
ringtones gives nothing but garbage. I have the RTTTL format but I've been
sending it in binary. The format I use goes something like //SCKL#####
##################etc where the # signs are numbers and letters. I've
actually only tried sending them from my phone to my phone if that may be a
problem, but I can receive regular text messages from myself just fine.
Anyway if you need anymore info I can probably give it.

If it works on your brother's "identical" phone, you must have the Nokia
binary format set up correctly. The only other thing (that I can think of)
that might cause problems is if your firmware version is different (older).
