Hi
A friend of mines has given me his barred Nokia 7250 (Blacklisted!!). Can
this phone now only be used for spares or is there a way to re-set it?

Why was it barred..? If an insurance claim has been made then the phone is
now the property of the insurance company.

My friend lost the phone and so claimed on his insurance. But recently the
phone was found and handed in at his place of work. He contacted his
insurance company but they don't want to know. He ended up with 2 phones,
one working and one not. The reason I'd like to un-bar it is because it's a
better phone than my 7210.
So can anyone help?

If the phone was the subject of an insurance claim then legally it is the
insurance company's property. If they don't want it, get your friend to
ask them to officially write to him saying this, then it should be
possible to use this to get the network to unbar it. I can't guarantee
this will happen but it's worth a try.

Re: Barred Nokia 7250
Just a thought... A phone that is "barred" from 1 service provider may
be able to be activated on another....Cellular service providers are
not known for sharing info with each other..

You've obviously been hiding in a cupboard somewhere for the last couple
of years. All UK networks/SP's now share info on stolen phones' IMEI
numbers so a phone reported lost or stolen on one is barred on all of
them.
