I have an Ambicom BT 2000 usb dongle on my pc and am using it with 2
BT enabled phones: A Nokia 3650 and a Sony/Ericsson T610. When
connected to the Sony from the pc, I can open the OBEX File Transfer
folder and see files on the phone from the pc using only the software
that came with the BT adapter and use FTP transfer to move or copy
to/from the pc.
But with the Nokia, the OBEX File Transfer folder is linked only to
the phone's INBOX. No other folders on the phone are visible. I know I
can use PC Suite for file transfer but would prefer to just browse
phone folders from the pc. Also, I cannot SEND via bluetooth from the
phone to the pc. It says "maximum connections already open".
I know there must be minor variations in Bluetooth driver software,
but I suspect the problem is with the Symbian implementation of
bluetooth since the Sony worked with all settings at default. Anyone
else using a BT dongle able to browse Nokia phone files and folders
from their pc?

Yes. I think that's just the way it is? I can only see and download
files that have been sent to the phone's inbox using bluetooth. Any
other files I just send from the phone. I assumed that's the way it
was supposed to be? Could be a case of "It's not a bug, it's a
(security) feature!"

You cannot do this if you already made a bluetooth serial connection
to the computer for running the PC Suite or other things that use a
serial connection. At other times it should just work. Check on the
computer that the phone is set as 'authorized' to receive stuff from.

Not me; only through the Nokia PC Suite.
Han.
