I have to agree with this. The Samsung A500 used to have some serious
software flaws that would result in the phone fatally losing
connection to the network and having to be power cycled before you
could get service back. It took Samsung and Sprint over 6 months to
release a fix. They never made any effort to contact us A500 owners to
let us know. As a result many people today still don't know there's a
fix and have returned their phones thinking they were defective. Had
Sprint sent out a notice I'm sure they would have solved a lot of
these A500 owners problems. I was in Best Buy looking at some phones
last week when a guy came in thinking he had a defective phone and
complained of the call hanging issue. The rep at best Buy didn't know
what to tell him. Luckily I overheard the conversation and told him to
take it in for the WD29 update. I showed him how to check the version
and sure enough he had VI16.
