The 2760 was a pcs 860, right? I used to use an 860 on vzw... I bought
lots of batteries for it. I have one unopened. You can get like 5 of
those for $30 off the net... If the original poster is interested, I'll
send it for shipping.

Re: Couldn't find a single phone I liked
LOL! As soon as I saw your previous comments re: large clock (lil bro
turned me onto that setting, I love it!) and low-intensity flashlight,
I figured you had to have a 4900!
Have been shopping for a 4900 as a replacement / backup on eBay
lately, the prices have gone up (from ~$55-60 to ~$100) since it was
discontinued. Guess that's what happens when the price subsidies @
SPCS end. Wish I'd thought of that sooner.......

I still see them new all over the place for under $100 - You'd have to be
brain dead to pay anywhere near that amount from ebay, unless you live 100
miles in the boonies.
I seen some the other day at either office max or office depot.

Re: Couldn't find a single phone I liked
Many thanks, Jesse, I'll take a look at the Office places. Wasn't
about to pay $100 for a backup 4900.

I've gotten several new batteries on eBay for a fraction of the cost
of buying them anywhere else. I got a 1600mAh hi-capacity battery for
my N400, for $5. It lasts days compared to the stock OEM battery that
lasted only a day or 2. I also got a genuine Nokia battery for $10,
that sells elsewhere for $30+.

I'm curious about something, but I don't know how to word=20
this without appearing as if I'm challenging you, so I'll=20
simply say it straight out:
Actual talk time certainly matters, no question there. But=20
does standby time *really* mean that much to people beyond=20
about 48 or even 72 hours?
I understand the two are tied together. I guess I'm just=20
asking if you really feel you need a phone to last beyond a=20
couple of days?
I'm not presuming anything here, please understand. I'm=20
simply and only asking.

Re: Couldn't find a single phone I liked
I don't know about anyone else, but I don't care directly... Meaning that I
charge my phone every night, but some days I am really on my phone (talking)
for several hours and then I often use the Vision and other services of the
phone. I often find that if I don't plug my Sanyo 5300 (Extended Battery)
in while I am driving to and from work it will go dead before I am ready to
plug it in. I guess it is not too big of a deal because I can plug it in,
but I often don't understand why my old Startac could last for almost five
hours of talk time on such a small battery but my 5300 can only last 3.8
hours an a bigger battery. (Yes I know it has a color screen but there
should be some advances in battery life, both phone consumption and actual
storage per cubic unit.)
So, no I don't care about stand by only in that it effects that about of
time I can use the phone for other things.

Because the color screen provides better contrast which makes it
easier to read. And I agree with the OP... I don't want a phone that
seems to do everything but allow for voice communication.
I have the Nokia 3588i which was the only phone I could find at the
sprint store that didn't come with all of the extra features I don't
need.
I would however like to be able to send text messages to my wife, but
I guess that involves an additional cost. I've tried sending her
messages, but she never gets them. :-(

Re: Couldn't find a single phone I liked
That phone can "Send, receive, and reply to text messages
instantly with an SMS-capable Sprint PCS Phone across the room or across
the country while on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network." Is
your Wife's phone such a phone?
