Hi - Sprint misquoted the cost of the service plan by $10/mo when I called
to activate my phone. I asked the Sprint rep to confirm the figure. She
did. When I checked my account on the sprintpcs.com web site I discovered I
was being billed $10/mo more than I was told I would be. Caveat emptor, I
    guess.

Has this happened to anybody here?

Was there a specific line item that showed the extra expense?

When you were quoted the plan, did it include your local taxes?

    I elected the 300 minutes plan for $35/mo; I'd researched Sprint's plans
before ordering the phone online. The Sprint rep told me it would cost
    $25/mo. Not once, but twice.

On the evening of 12/10/03. Local taxes, it was explained, were extra.

Do you get any kind of corporate discount? Still wouldn't get you to $25,
but not far from it. I'm not aware of any plan lower than $35 (other than
like an add a phone, which really isn't a plan per se).

The 300 min plan is in fact $35.00 a month.

I haven't seen a good example of data being synchronized between what
the CSRs see.... and their website. When I checked the account via
the website, it said I didn't have a calling plan and they'd already
generated a bill... and not all services were activated (the other
phone on the plan). Seemingly don't have their **** together.

    Be Well.

What are you talking about? How could you check the website and not have a
calling plan listed? Were you put on a short term billing period, where your
monthly billing cycle started on a different date than when you signed up?

Maybe you might enlighten us a bit further with the details?

Something similar happened to me. When I called to renew my contract, the
CSR added free PCS/PCS calling at no charge and unlimited minutes starting
at 7PM at no extra charge. Sounded ok to me. But when I got my first bill
for the new contract, I noticed that the PCS/PCS was listed at an additional
$5.00/mo. and the off peak minutes began at 8:00 not 7:00. I called SPCS and
had them remove the free PCS/PCS charges.

Well, I guess this is what happens when you don't get it in writing. Watch
    out!

It's what happens when CSRs have upselling quota to fulfill.

It's a large party of the reason why SprintPCS was rated worst in
    Customer Service by JD Power.

Such problems are posted here regularly.

Did you check the adjustments & credit part of your bill? You will be
billed for the services you choose, but then the appropriate adj is made in
a diff part. The net result is free pcs2pcs or whatever.

If you got him/her on tape, or if the rep told you this when they were
recording your answers to the contract questions, you might be able to get
$120 credit a year. Call back and ask them to check the recording.

You posting the same thing four hundred times does not count. As a matter
of fact, nothing you say here counts- JD Power, call handling times, links
that mean nothing, lies, guesses.........its all crap. You have no clue
about the things you choose to pout about here- Sprint did the right thing
by getting rid of your ass.....wish we could do the same.
