Does sprint (or anybody else) have a free service that emails you
regarding the minutes that you have used?
I'd like something where I could specify things like -
1)email me when I've used up 80% of my minutes
2)email me everytime that I go over my minutes
This would be alot easier than going out and checking the sprintpcs
web page every day.
Thank you for your help,
Ben

They offer a daily or weekly service, but you must pay for it. It seems
better for somebody to write an app to login to the website each day and
scrape that information from the page into an email to the phone ....
If I write one, I will charge half of whatever Sprint charges for that
service ... anybody interested ???

No, nothing free. You can add an option to get a daily balance notification
TM reports though for $2.99/mo. One more thing to think of ... If you find
that you are running out of minutes, and going over on a consistent basis,
you might want to consider bumping up your plan to the next higher minutes
plan.

With vision you can get this info so fast, the email thing doesn't
make sense to me--in case you haven't tried, from main menu go to 0
(item 10) (account info) then press 1, this is usually accurate within
the last few minutes--I believe there is some problem with sharred
accounts, etc, but with my non sharred acct the the fast page loading
with the new 5400 I can have this info within 30 seconds or so, free.

Re: email minute usage
I don't have the vision plan, so I'd still have to pay for it. I have
an LG 5350 and don't have the options that you speak of, anyway. (O is
my organizer, the only "account info" that I can find simply calls *4)
I can use *4, but that uses up minutes... stingy, I know!

Re: email minute usage
Thats what I was thinking as well. But I wouldn't charge for it
Does anybody know the legal implications of scraping minutes?

I don't have the faintest clue what you are trying to ask above.

There can be no legal implementations if you are a customer and you are
scraping your own minutes and mailing a message to your own account. Now,
if I wrote such a service ... I would probably need a lawyer, or just make
the source code open and let you run it yourself

I have had no problem with shared accounts ... until I got F&CA added to the
account. Now the roaming minutes ALWAYS show as an outrageous number when
looking at the per phone details. However, it really is not that big of a
deal as I don't roam much and the bill is correct when I get it. It is a
little annoying though.
