Need more details. Are you dialing from a laptop? If so, what OS?
Did you create a connectoid in Windows dialup networking that
is configured to dial #777 ? How is the modem for that connectoid
identified? Is the modem shown in the Control Panel's modem applet?
Have you gone there to Diagnostics/Query Modem?

I'm not sure your computer is seeing the phone. One thing I learned is
that with the 8100 it is very important, to turn the phone off,
connect the cable and then turn the phone on. You might also need to
reset your connection to make sure it's using the Sanyo and not
another installed modem. Hope this helps.

dialing form a laptop. windows 2000. using futuredial snapdialer.
everything installed with no problem so i didnt expect not to connect.
configured to dial #777. modem is shown in CP as futuredial modem. i
have queried the modem successfully. doesnt make sense to me.

    thanks for your time

ok, i will try to turn it off first. how would i "reset the
connection". the "futuredial" modem showed up after the installation
of the usb drivers from the cd.

Sounds like there's a problem with SnapDialer. I don't use it, and my
Samsung VGA1000 works fine as a modem without it. Perhaps you
    should contact Futuredial tech support.

Either that, or just set up a new dial up, putting #777 in for the number,
and keep the user and password fields blank.

thanks to everyone here. I want everyone to know that my problem was
sprint. it seems that since i was in the middle of a port of my old
number to sprint, the access was not available to me. as soon as the
access was turned on , I got on with no problem. I wish the sprint
tech support would have told me that.
