    When someone needs protection from a union they are usually not one of the
    best employees in a company. I've found that those in need of protection are
    the same people that would be without a job if it were not for the union.

    Protect me?

    Why the hell would I need protection? I'm not chained to
    that workstation (although I *will* admit sometimes it
    feels that way <vbg> when the queues are long). The pay in
    exchange for the overtime darn near doubled my last
    paycheck.

    I need protection from that?

    Unions are not always a beneficial thing. Sometimes they are a
    political pig and a financial draw with little or no benefits and can
    do much in the way of destroying smaller or struggling companies.
    Unions obviously do have their rightful place and do protect alot of
    people, but they are not always there for the right reasons.

    Calm it down there. I have seen this too in *some* instances, but
    certainly this is not the case globally. You make way to broad of a
    generalization.
