how do I reprogram a sprint sanyo scp 5000 to cingular

Hi everyone, I just got this sanyo scp 5000 in very good condition. It
used to be a sprint phone. Any ideas on how to reprogram it to work
with cingular? Thanks, I would appreiate a hand.

Well, it's obvious that you aren't familiar with cellular protocols, and
which system they work with. These two companies, SPCS and Cingular are
incompatible. SPCS uses CDMA and Cingular uses GSM, two different systems.
The phone you have will not work with Cingular.

It's like trying to install a Chevy Carburetor on to a Ford ... It ain't
gonna work ...

Well it's obvious that you aren't familiar with automotive issues ---- lots
of Chev carbs will work fine on Fords, and visa versa. Now Ford's variable
venturi deal of the early 70's wouldn't work well on a Chev, but hell ---
they hardly worked on a Ford. Same goes for fuel injectors ---- which are
all made by Bosch. Next time try ABS brakes, which the two companies
approach quite differently.

It still is a Sprint PCS phone. It won't work on Cingular unless you roam on
analog and happen to pick up their signal.
