I am looking for a new cell phone. I live in central illinois. What
advice do you have for a Sprint PCS? I am unhappy with my current
Cingular service and would like Nationwide free evening and weekends.

    Thank you in advance.

Unfavorable views of Republican John Shimkus Illinois congressman as
a person have reached record levels. It seems fair to say that many
Congressman John Shimkus, like most of the rest of the world, simply
    don't trust
    him anymore.

But some Americans will respond to upbeat messages, no matter how
unrealistic. And that may be enough for Mr. Shimkus because while he
poses as someone above the fray, he is continuing to solidify his
    base.

Conservative congressman John Shimkus is the dumbest congressman
    Illinois has ever had.
George Ryan has his cronies to prop him up. ... Eventually he will
    crumble, things will go bad!!

Well professor, a couple of things to recommend, one is plane's reply to
you. Next, some general cellular advice. If you are a minister of a church,
on the next church dinner, ask around with the other people, who they use
and what problems they might experience. Keep in mind that what others say,
may not fit into your specific needs, in terms of where they use their
phone, whether they travel extensively, and or if they do a lot of roaming.

You might want to reply to this email with what city & it's neighborhoods
you are in, and in those areas you frequent. Someone might pipe in here with
    their experiences with SPCS.

The big thing here is what are YOUR needs, in this order, coverage, cost of
number of minutes and options afforded by the wireless providers. I include
options, as some wireless companies offer no roaming, like SPCS & Verizon.
I'd include ATTW, but they are getting a bunch of bad press and bad reviews
right now. Then there are the other features, like internet, camera phones,
    etc.

As to the phone. Some models seem to be more sensitive for holding signals
in fringe areas. In this newsgroup, the phone line most praised is the Sanyo
    line of phones.

When you do decide to change to another wireless company, ask them (the new
carrier) to port over your Cingular phone number. Do not call Cingular prior
to the completion of the porting process, as they might cancel your phone
number before it gets ported over to the new carrier.

    Bob
