Ready link to NEXTEL (was Re: ready link)


I had heard months ago, that the plan was to be able to connect to other
systems like NEXTEL and Verizon, but never seen anything on it. You
would think that if it was going to happen, there would be a big pres
release.

As I said, when it's working, it's great, but at $35/ month for two
phones, and the limited number of people that have it, it's not cost
effective for me yet. If I could connect with NEXTEL, that would be a
differant story.

Anyone have any more info on this?

Where did you hear that RL would be able to connect with Verizon & Nextel
systems?

The reason that Verizon couldn't connect with Nextel is because they are
too slow. Their average connection time is about 10 to 15 seconds then
the transmission time is about 8. Sprints is much faster. As far as a
press release...Sprint didn't put out a press release on the Ready Link
until it was already out on the market.
