Samsung i500 upgrade?

I love the i500. But I really need a phone with an external display. I'm
shocked the phone does not have an external display for caller id, battery
power, time, signal strength, etc. That's standard equipment for a clamshell
these days.

Anyone know if there's an update (or a comperably small clamshell smart
phone) coming any time soon? A camera would make a nice addition too.

this was my problem too, so i stayed with my sanyo 6000 and got a ipaq 4155

The SPH i550 should have those features but I have no idea when it will be
out.
