Sprint made it official about handing off its Customer Service to IBM.
Sounds to me like IBM promised exactly what management wanted to hear,
and I fear for what will happen.

IBM claims it will give Sprint PCS:
"reduced average call handle time"
Turns out the expected savings for Sprint come from (translation
closing) "the Dallas center serving long-distance customers will be
consolidated into the existing Fort Worth, Texas, service center on
April 30, 2004." " Sprint estimates that its customer service costs
should be reduced by an estimated $550 million over the next three
years."
Good luck doing more with less.

Sprint will spend less on Customer Service.

Spending less money is a good thing.
Discussed.

Ya, ya --- lets get back to last week's question Phil, which was why did you
return to Sprint? We're all interested to know what it was that brought you
back.
(get used to it --- or get gone)

Hey, hypocrite, what, then, is "embarressment <sic> to=20
Sprint PCS"?
You misquoted. Notice that you have to separate them? =20
Because, unlike the lie you posted, they did not arrange=20
together. One is a statement of expected savings overall. =20
The other is a statement about one portion of what's being=20
done. They were separate for a reason. Because they=20
aren't that directly related.

I posted no lie, I posted direct quotes from the Spriont PCS Press
Release. You are an embarressment to Sprint for insulting me for doing
so.
Sorry you are afraid of losing your job in the transition, but that is
not my doing.
Sprint PCS is cutting costs, and handing off its CS operation to IBM,
which has promised to reduce Handle Time, already over enforced by many
managers in many call centers.

I posted more than insults. I posted an accurate description of what=20
you did, Phillie, which was selective rearrangement of two SEPARATE=20
quotes from a story that completely altered what they, in fact, stated. =20
In other words, you lied. One who lies: a liar.
No, Sprint is *not* counting on a lone call center closure to result in=20
half a billion dollars in savings over 5 years. They are counting on a=20
whole series of actions IBM has said it would, that closure being only=20
one of them. It says so in the portion of the press release you chose=20
to ignore.

I agree, but when one has the consistant worst rated Customer Service it
is not reasonable to expect a major cost reduction to improve service.
