I just got it here in NJ. Now to ask an age old questions that still
gets many answers. Does the PRL have any effect on the Sprint system
and its own towers, while not roaming?

I just tried it, here in California. Nada.

CS looked up my account, identified my phone, and told me that the
    latest is still 10021.

Could be the truth, could be a less-than-efficient CS Rep.

I'll try again in a few days...

It is truth. I am sitting here looking at prl 10023 , had it since 6am
est . Call *2 and just tell them you want to be flagged for a prl
update. Don't start throwing numbers at them as not all computers will
    show what is really available.

    Give that man a cigar!

You're probably correct about the computers... I called again, asking for
my phone to be flagged. CS, again, said the latest PRL was 10021, and that's
what I appeared to have. I said, "You're probably right, but, just for the
hell of it, could you please flag it again."

He did, and I now have 10023.

Yup. I just called, asked for the update for my two phones. The rep. asked
for the two phone numbers and set it up. I called back on both phones and
voila - 10023. I travel the north east tomorrow and maybe I will benefit
    from it.

Do you have more specifics on what it adds?
What new roaming capabilities does it have, USA-wise.

Customer service will usually not know about new PRL updates for at
least a couple of days after they are released. That is why it is best
to just ask for your phone to be flagged and not tell them which PRL
you already have. They will often haggle with you and tell you that
you don't need it or already have the latest.

    A couple of days?

Try many months if they think 10021 is the newest.

"... a couple of days after they are released."

How do you come up with "many months?"

10021 was the latest until a few days ago.

When was 10021 first released?, your call to Sprint got a response that
10021 was just releqased. Obviously they are farther behind than a
    couple of days.

At no time, in my post, did I say that CS said 10021 was just released.

They said, and I'll quote myself, "... the latest PRL was 10021..."

    There's a difference.

Nothing "offical" yet, but 10022 (which never came out) was supposed
to add in some international roaming. I've been looking to see fi I
can find specifics on what 10023 does.

And here I thought you were killfiled, but you seem to show up in some
    threads.

So ... how do you get off saying months? There was no 10022 distributed
on any normal scale like most PRLs and 10023 *JUST* came out. I think
you are just trying to cause trouble again .. as USUAL.
