Analog F&C nightime minutes?

If the $5/mo F&C plan draws analog roaming minutes
out of your daytime plan, does it also take it out of
your daytime plan if you use the F&C after 9:00 or on
weekends?

Stands to reason it would, because Sprint has to reimburse
the roaming carrier providing the service you are roaming
on.

no difference on my statement ( no distinction) if i roam either
digitally or analog---all of roam minutes are just grouped by date and
carrier.

Other than the totals of the minutes used to roam, no additional
billing.

and In my area, I will use at least a 100 or so minutes per month

But are any of those minutes during night and weekend hours? In other
words, if I use my phone on the weekend and happen to place the call
while in analog roam, will that call come out of my daytime minutes?

Re: Analog F&C nightime minutes?

I did several test calls a month ago and they were not part of my plan
minutes or were they deducted from my plan minutes..
Incoming got charged at .39 a min, while outgoing to same area code ( 202 )
got charged .39 min plus LD at .25 minute.
Seems to be consisant with other carriers roaming policies.

I have tried a couple of different calls ( 611, #646# and the CS
888-211-4727 ) just to see if they bill for this. We'll see when bill comes
out in a week or so.
611 doesn't go through anyway. #646# is the code for Verizon ( roaming
partner for SprintPCS in my market ) and asks me for my Verizon mobile
number, which of course won't do me any good for checking minute usage on my
SprintPCS phone. ;-)
I did get though on 888 number but, will have to wait and see if they charge
me for roaming.

Anyway, just fyi.....

N&W, PCS-PCS and perhaps some other types all apply only when on the
native Sprint PCS network. F&CA roaming minutes, even on weekends,
apply to your anytime minutes.

Re: Analog F&C nightime minutes?

> Wrong!

Well, thanks for the one word answer. ;-)
Any thoughts top backup your one word answer?

I haven't seen any minutes taken out of my plan minutes for roaming, peak or
weekend/night minutes.
Verizon or T-Mobile from my tests are the same way.
When I was in Italy, my T-Mobile minutes never decreased when I was roaming
in Italy but I definably got charged for roaming.
My Verizon AC plan roams every now and them and roaming charges for them are
separate roaming line items and not deducted from my minutes.
It would really suck if it did, as plan minutes are supposed to be free. If
I am getting charged for roaming and they are taking minutes from my plan,
they would be double-dipping at that point. Make sense?

These calls are made at every possible times of day and night, and
thus far, no chargers-----my f&ca is the $5 one added about november

Re: Analog F&C nightime minutes?

F&CA is different than the regular F&C and hence, I do not have this on my
account to give an opinion as to whether it gets taken off F&C minutes or
not.

Anyone know if this is a separate line item on your bill or does it come out
of your plan minutes?
I would think it would as the website implies that it would.

I've lost track who has said what, but the verbiage from SPCS's site on F&CA
(from a zip code in SPCS's direct coverage) says: "PCS Free & Clear
America - Enjoy no additional charges for roaming in this expanded coverage
area, reaching more than 280 million people, as long as less than half of
your monthly call time is used while roaming"

Nowhere here do I see F&CA usage applied to AT minutes. Nor do I see it in
the Roaming FAQ - http://tinyurl.com/2b6ur

I agree, if I call after 8pm and I am roaming, the minutes are *NOT*
deducted from my anytime minutes----

I have seen other questions about the 50% rule etc, and it seems that
we are trying to make this far too complcated----the brochures say
something like use your minutes anywhere, and there is no distinction
( thank god) betweem anytime and N&W.-----it is a great value, and I
have absolutely no complaints about it....

The analog roaming minutes in F & C A do not all come out of the
anytime minutes if used in nights and weekends. I was told this by the
rep when I signed up and it has held true for me for three months.

Called CS (the last thing I usually do and only when I can find
the anwer using my own). Here is the answer:

Free and Clear is just a branded name for Sprint's PCS service.

Free and Clear AMERICA allows you to roam off network and not have
to pay roaming charges - the daytime minutes you use off the network
come out of your regular daytime.

If you roaming during weekends or after 9 PM (7 PM for some), its
still a free call. In otehr words, if you used up all your minutes
in your plan and used anotehr 100 minutes roaming on a weekend,
there would be no overage charges.

Yes they do. Check your bill next time. Night & Weekend minutes only
apply to in-network calls, as do PCS-PCS.
