What, you think a place with the money that has been spent on
the North slope for the last 30 years /doesn't/ have cellphone
coverage?

From Wainwright village (90 miles or so south west of Barrow)
eastward to the oil patch and all the way to Kaktovik on Barter
Island, there is cell coverage everwhere there are people.

I don't know if it has been expanded westward to Point Lay and
Point Hope yet or not, but two years ago (when I commonly was
traveling to those locations before I retired) there were plans
to add coverage in those villages too.
