#1 | | Guest | I have almost a full year remaining on my sprint contract. I recently moved
and get zero service at my new location (Monroe, OH). I am actually 1 mile
from I75 -much closer than my previous address was - yet get zero service
for about 1/8 mile circle around my house. I pretty much have to change
providers - my question is: will spring let me out of my contract as I
cannot get service?

If they do, it won't be beacuse you moved.
At no time did Sprint guarantee that you'd have service "at home" or any
other exact spot.
Sorry.

Nope ... Here's a suggestion though and some good news for you. SPCS lists
your city as one that qualifies for the $5 month F&CA option, which will
allow you to roam @ no additional charge for up to 50% of the minutes you
use every month. What's more, adding this option should not extend your AA
with SPCS. $60/yr. is a lot less than the $150 cancellation fee.

Who are Sprint's roaming partners in that area? I keep thinking that should
be up near Toledo, but that's Monroe, MICHIGAN - I'm not sure where Monroe,
OHIO is.
And the problem is, if the OP *lives* there, there will be lots of roaming -
more than 50%.
The question is whether Monroe is advertised as being covered...?

Sprint will refuse, but if you write to your state attorney general explaining
how you get no service, with a certified copy to Sprint HQ in KC, you'll get
out. | | | |

Why would it be more than 50%. The OP only is missing coverage at a 1/8
mile radius from his home. There is absolutely no reason to believe
that most (as in more than 50%) are made from home. I would say about
10% of my calls are when I am home.

So what you're saying is that you feel that Sprint is should let
anyone out of their contract if they move to an area where there is no
coverage?
I doubt *any* wireless carrier would.
BTW - Writing style looks very familiar.

#9 | | Guest | I have been a sprint customer for approx 5 years. Prior to moving to sprint
I was a customer of
Voicestream....now T-Mobile. I moved from Des Moines, Iowa to New Orleans,
Louisiana. At
the time I moved to New Orleans neither Voicestream nor T-Mobile had a
presence in Louisiana.
With one phone call to Voicestream and explaining the situation they
immediately terminated my
services and forgave my contractual agreement. Do I think you should call
and do I believe
that Sprint should release you from your contract. Of course I do........if
you are moving into
an area that truly does not have coverage.
That's just good business.

I say they should if the carrier doesn't advertise coverage there...
as a blanket statement, however, no...

NO ! When two entirely contradictory answers are posted, it's entirely
appropriate to call atention to that fact.
If you're embaressed by what you say being repeated, don't say it in the
first place. If it's just a wild-ass-guess, perhaps you shouldn't post
it at all. | | | |

#14 | | Guest | I would like to see that court case.......... ;-)
If SprintPCS moved that would be a different story though. ( being
sarcastic )
'cause you know it's Sprints fault he moved an' all. ;-)
He could get lucky and call. Ya never know.
Probably better off trying to get a external antenna or something. http://www.criterioncellular.com/html/reception.html

I love it when even the SprintPCS employees disagree.
