I've never seen a device as expensive and shoddy as a cell phone. If cars
behaved like cell phones we'd all be in trouble. My wife's nokia phone,
which was allegedly under warantee, developed a problem- the charger plug
jammed inside the phone, and she had to pull it loose. Then the charger
wouldn't work. When we brought it back, the Sprint folks said that this kind
of damage wasn't covered by warrantee.
Anyway, now all the phones at Sprint are fancy vision varieties that are
very expensive. All we want is a cheap (but new) replacement Sprint phone,
like my samsung a460 or something similar. One that makes phone calls,
period. Where can I get a cheap replacement phone?

So, are you saying the charger is bad now, or the cellphone's port where the
    charge connects to?

SPCS is not always the cheapest to buy phones. You might check eBay to see
what's available, or through the big chains, like Radio Shack, Best Buy,
    Costco, etc.

Both. I wish it were just the charger, but when I brought it back they said
the port was missing a small piece as well.

Also- is there a list anywhere containing the names (and possibly prices) of
the phones that can work with SPCS?

Why should that be included in the warranty Phillipe? It's obvious that
something happened when that phone was plugged in, like it dropping to the
floor, or someone sitting on it.

Bob - First of all, thanks for the list. Second, I already ordered a
replacement via Ebay. Third, nobody stepped on the phone, dropped it, or sat
on it. Usually (as is true in this case) one plugs a charger into a phone to
charge it. One would think that if I used a charger in accordance with its
intended use and it got jammed, and it was within the warrantee period, it
should be covered. Perhaps I should have waited. If I had waited until
tomorrow and called executive services, who knows? But I got a replacement
via Ebay for $71, including shipping. The whole incident sucks but I'm ready
to move past it. These phones are overpriced pieces of crap, and now they've
made them more expensive than ever just to have more unnecessary bells and
whistles. I can buy a cheap cordless phone at K-Mart for $20, but cell
phones cost $250 and more and they don't even last. Like I said, this is
    nuts!

You are correct. Call SprintPCS Executive Services at 866-519-5698

or write to your State's Attorney General with certified copy to Sprint
    in KC.

Gary, this was not the first time your wife tried to charge the battery on
the Nokia phone was it? If it was, I could understand your frustration.

If it wasn't, well ... there had to be something to change either the
connector, or the port in the phone to make it jam.
