I am currently a Verizon subscriber and am thinking of switching to Sprint.

What is the quality of reception like in the LA area, specifically mid-city
    (90069)?

Poor indoors, poor if a hill is in the way of a tower.
    Otherwise acceptable.

I have had no problems I am all over the west side and the Paramount Studio
area. In fact my entire company switched to Sprint. Try it for 14 days

I'm all over L.A., and have been since 1998. It's gotten to be quite good,
especially if you own a phone with good reception (read: "Sanyo").

Western L.A. near Santa Monica, north of LAX is not an area of "good"
    reception even with a Sanyo.

Well, it's possible that he does visit LA, but seeing how people LIVING in
the area disagree with him, I would have to assume that he's incorrect.

I'll disagree. Sprint is much improved in LA since 2000 and I no
longer have any trouble indoors. In fact they have the best coverage
out of ANY provider in the Hollywood Hills areas.

My son reports continued issues, even after switching to my former Sanyo
4700. No signal indoors for him.

Has the phone been tested and or upgraded?

Re: Quality of service in LA

There are two friends I visit near that part of LA.
Inside June & Rosewood 90004 Hancock Park, my SPCS phone has better
reception than the resident's Verizon phone. Mine is weak on the first
floor and fine on the second floor.
Inside Maple & Charleville 90212 BH, my SPCS phone works fine and has
better reception than the resident's ATTWS phone.

But neither of these may be where YOU are.

On the business side of Sprint's website, you can view tower maps (not
    coverage maps).
    http://www.sprint.com/pcsbusiness/co...towermaps.html
Your browser has to have Java enabled.

I see in what I think is the 90069 area, cell sites at roughly (it's a
    small scale map):
    Santa Monica & La Cienega
    Sunset & Palm
    Sunset & Crescent Heights
    Melrose & La Cienega
    (planned) Melrose & Fairfax
    (planned) Santa Monica & Gardner

Are you dissatisfied with Verizon's coverage in this area? Or looking
to change for some other reason?
