Re: Sprint PCS FAQ - Version 5 (work in progess)

I know about alternative news readers from OE --- but that's all I need in
the all text world of the ng's I visit. And OE's worked well for me in this
particular ng for a number of years --- that is until very recently ----
know what I mean? And perish the thought that I might, by mistake, DL a
message full of garbage over my SPCS phone rather than my fat RR pipe. But
that'd be my problem, right --- for making the mistake of clicking the "FAQ"
    post in the first place.

But it'll be a blast in a few weeks, when you actually get Sprint service.
Then that's when the real fun will start ---- or so I strongly suspect.

That's it? That's NOT a FAQ. It doesn't have enough information to be a
FAQ. Here is a real FAQ: http://www.cdrfaq.org/ for CD recordable media.
This is more of what I am going for.

You asking that question is exactly why need to get a clue- PCS is a form of
cellular service. The fact that you are trying to use the term to avoid the
question PROVES that you write about things which you know nothing about.

Again, no solutions. I challenge you to show me where on www.sprintpcs.com
that has a list of plans like on my FAQ? Put up or shut up? You can't? I
know you can't cause that information didn't come from sprint.

Re: Sprint PCS FAQ - Version 5 (work in progess)

PCS and cellular are not the same.(From the FAQ of which you did not read
and which you say is wrong and not-needed) or go to the link at symbian.com:
    http://www.symbian.com/technology/glossary.html
    i.
    Cellular Radio:

    1. The technology that has made large scale mobile telephony possible.
Current cellular networks reuse the same radio frequencies by assigning them
to cells far enough apart to reduce interference. A cell is the geographical
area covered by one radio base station transmitting/receiving in the center.
The size of each cell is determined by the terrain, transmission power, and
forecasted number of users. Service coverage of a given area is based on an
interlocking network of cells, called a cell system.

    i. PCS
    (Personal Communications Service):

    1. An American generic term for a mass-market mobile phone service,
emphasizing personal communication, independent of the technology used to
provide it. PCS includes such digital cellular technologies as GSM 1900,
    CDMA and TDMA IS-136.

    i. 3G:

    1. In mobile telephony, third-generation protocols support much higher
data rates, measured in Mbps, intended for applications other than voice. 3G
networks trials started in Japan in 2001. 3G will support bandwidth-hungry
applications such as full-motion video, video-conferencing and full Internet
    access

    ii.
    Analog:

    1. The simple way to transmit speech, which is translated into
electronic signals of different frequency and/or amplitude. The first
networks for mobile phones, as well as broadcast transmissions, were analog.
Due to being longer established in some countries, analog networks may offer
better coverage than digital networks, however analog phones are less secure
and suffer more from interference where the signal is weak. Analog systems
    include AMPS, NMT and ETACS.

    iii. CDMA
    (Code Division Multiple Access)

    1. A digital wireless telephony transmission technique.

    2. CDMA allows multiple frequencies to be used simultaneously (Spread
Spectrum). The CDMA idea was originally developed for military use over 30
    years ago.

    3. The CDMA standards used for second-generation mobile telephony are
the IS-95 standards championed by QUALCOMM

Just keep talking- all of your inabilities are being captured in the
archives. I'm not your little information gatherer- you want ther
information- find it. I told you where, and can't help it if your lack of
education prevents you from doing kid's stuff.

    Before calling someone else stupid...
Have you even looked at the obvious?

    http://www.sprintpcs.com

In the middle of the page, under "Shopping"...
/Find coverage and plans by area:/
Just enter your zip code and click Go.

The problem with listing plans and features in your FAQ is that (1) they
are not the same in all markets, and (2) they change frequently.

Listen, moron, and read this very carefully- did you notice that the
definition of PCS you have states:

"PCS includes such digital CELLULAR technologies as GSM 1900,
    CDMA and TDMA IS-136."

Your own definition states that it is cellular service. Furhter proof that
you are posting things which you have no knowledge of.

Are you that friggin' blind to what I've said, and the other posters have
said? Who made you king of the jungle to violate all the Usenet protocols?

Are you really that dense you don't understand what we are saying to you?

What? You didn't get the plan information from SPCS? Liar! Your really are
showing your true colors here, what with the phony ID, and your initial bias
.... Here's a clue. Move your cellular service and your FAQ to another
newsgroup ... We don't want it ... We don't want 500+Kb in downloaded files.

Please detail for me where I'm not "giving it a chance". Because I=20
