    Re: Another Corporate Disgrace

I read somewhere ( I think in this group) someone said that they are still
building their network out and my 2005 they should be turning a profit. I
know that in my address book alone with my friends and everyone in my office
that out of 82 people I know with a cell phone 74 of them are with Sprint
PCS. I remember back when I first got Sprint PCS in 1998 and no one I knew
had them. I believe 2005 will be a great year for Sprint PCS as well as
    Sprint as a company.

Thats if you believe the corporate press releases. Given how far off
they have been in their predictions the last three years, I wouldn't
    count on it.

Don't try to convince Robert (Phil) that they are in better financial shape-
it falls on deaf ears. His lack of business knowledge makes him believe
that the losses each quarter are due to poor business management, and not
because they are expanding the business. He claims that they will be out of
business by the end of the year, if that tells you anything.

They've been closer in their predictions than you have- you said they'd be
out of business by the end of the year.

Why did you change the name when you quoted Isaiah?

That's an easy one to answer Eric. It's because Phillipe does it all the
    time ...

Yes Phillipe, would you like to see a recap of your prior quotes on that

Look at what he made in previous years, MILLIONS in bonuses.

That's also not including his stock options, he probabaly owns so much
stock that just the sale of a fraction of his stock is worth millions.

    Starpower blows as well.

I agree, POTs isn't a money maker and hasn't been for more than 10+ years or
    so.
Wireless is still making money but, it's having trouble making money as
    well.
Cell Sites aren't cheap, neither is spectrum.

I am not sure *HOW* Nextel is doing it with free incoming calls.
I am sure the business part is where they make their money but, it's a far
cry from what it used to be in the 80's and 55cents a min for peak for local
calling and no other frills besides bundled minutes. It's tough to make a $$
    nowadays.

The fact that Nextel is posting some pretty impressive spreadsheet numbers
would lead one to believe that free incoming is having any kind of effect.
You'd think that someone else would have picked up on that by now.

When a company does good (Jobs saved Apple after all) a CEO deserves
bonuses. When a company doesn't do well (i.e. Apple and Sprint last
year) a CEO doesn't desrve bonuses.

Jobs got no bonus for 2003, Lauer did. Did you get a bonus of 30x your
annual salary for 2003? Did you get any bonus?

You do understand stock options, don't you? The only way he clears 1.3
million is if the price doubles before he cashes them in. And if the price
    goes down, he gets squat.

Don't forget Steve's other jobs (no pun intended). He also owns an
animation stuido (is it Pixar?). I'm sure he gets paid well though
    them.
