Well, things must have changed then. As I never had to go to a sprint
store to get my corporate discount.

That's because you don't have to.

In the retail stores, we're told to ask for proof of employment along
    with the supervisor's name etc.

Call centers are also sending people to the stores to submit this
    proof, too.

If someone finds a crack in the system they happen to fall though,
they're lucky. If they did it fraudulently, then they'll be caught
and billed for whatever they were discounted in one bill. I've seen
it with people who left a company, still got that company's discount
for a few months, then appear in the store yelling and screaming
because they got billed for the time they didn't work for the company.

I can see finding a crack in the system once but not "everytime" as in my
case they never ask for proof and have never called the "company" to check.

    Re: Get an Extra Discount

Well the way it worked when I was employed by a company that had
an arrangement with Sprint PCS was that I would call a local Sprint PCS
person who would call my employer. Then the service was turned on.
Likewise within two weeks after I was not employed by them, they called
Sprint PCS and my account was closed.

No, that's a different kind of service. When the company directly=20
pays for the phone service, that's called "corporate sponsored" and=20
there's a whole different discount plan than the "employee=20
purchased" discounts. The two types of discounts have been know to=20
vary by as much as 100% from each other (I.e. one is double the=20
    amount of the other).

The company is still free to reimburse these employees, obviously,=20
but they must pay SPCS out of their own means to qualify for the=20
discounts being discussed in this thread.

The latter. The former, if it exists (I don't think it does) would=20
be what is called an "affinity program". And that discount is=20
something different than NVP discounts (and usually *not* able to be=20
used together). The things like miles rewards, yes. Monthly charge=20
    discounts, no.

    Re: Get an Extra Discount

I also added my company discount as well with out going into the Sprint store.
As for USAA there is a number to call for all USAA members to add sprint
discount. I also get discount from my employer and we have a code we use...and
    of course employement verification.
