how do i pick between these two? other than the way tehy look, how are they
different functionally? i think i read the 7300 uses a barrel type adapter,
that is referring to the power cord right? how thick is the 7300? thanks for
    any insight.

from what i have seen at the sprint pcs store, they vary very little. The
7300 is ruggedized, but it actually doesn't add any bulk in my opinion
compared to the 2500. I think that is the main difference between the two
that i can tell, i'm sure if you get into all the exact things within each
phone it'll probably have some differences. i personally like the 7300.

IMHO, I would go to a sales store and check each of them. They both
can take the same flat power cable. To me the 7400 is not as
attractive as eithe the 5400 or the 5500--but it with it's rubber
outline, it would be more resistant to dents etc should it be dropped.
I bought and sold one within a week--however it worked fine--ended
up with a 5500, which are now available for about the same price on
    ebaY.
