Notice he doesn't deny the firmly enforced average handle time of under
6 minutes, or quotas for upselling. This of course from our PCS employee
who confessed to giving people 2 year contracts for merely upgrading
their contract when he wasn't supposed to.

    Two words... BULL ****

The ONLY ONLY ONLY upselling I have EVER EVER EVER heard was a
five second offer for discounted long distance service or 7pm
    nights.

As if an obscenity makes you right and me wrong.

SprintPCS gas the worst rated customer service. So rated repeatedly by
    Consumer Reports
    JD Power
    The Yankee group

And it hasn't changed or improved, but may get beat out this year by
    AT&T Wireless.

And over the years there have been myriad posts of folks, upsold, lied
to, transferred to other reps, or flat hung up on because the reps have
the Strict "handle Time" limitation and their sales quotas. And last
fall when they were pushing Land Line Long Distance it was far longer
    than 5 seconds.

Just today we have a post of a gentleman that can't get a CSR to handle
his eligibility for an "18 month" rebate they way Vargas says its to be
    handled.

Then you must not be in this newsgroup very often, as "Advantage
Agreement" quotas are a staple for CSRs, and even Rob finally confessed
to improperly requiring them of folks.

Ur right, obscenity is not a qualifier for correctness ---- as a matter of
fact you never use an obscenity, but your seldom correct. Perhaps if you
cussed more you could tip the scales in your favor?

The rest of your post skipped due to its lame repetitive nature.

Based on your way of gathering facts, it's improved dramatically- the number
of posts here about bad CS and long hold times have dropped dramatically
    over thelast six months.

And there have been a myriad of posts refuting every calim you have made.
By your own logic, you have been provenwrong and stop posting your current
    list of rants.

No, it's *your* obscenity of lies that makes you wrong. And you=20

    Geez

Sprint Custoner service is poor (I hate the hold times, the few times
I need to call) but so what?

If you want better service you go to Verizon and pay extra for it.
Sprint is cheaper and so you give up something.

As long as you get good cellular service who cares about the hold
times for customer service? Well unless there are major billing
issues, which I don't recall ever having.

Sorry, but I've been with SPCS since 1998 and not once have I had a problem
by phone or in-person w/Customer Service. This includes plan changes
(recently making an increase in mins effective that day so I wouldn't go
over {as I just cancelled service I also had w/Cingular} with only 4 anytime
mins left), a lost then found phone, buying a new phone and other things. I
don't remember any hold times over 2-3 mins (most shorter) using *2 and
888-211-4PCS. Only had to pay the initial activation fee back in '98.

We've had long hold times of late for, I think, three major reasons,=20
and probably a few other less important ones.

Firstly, we changed the way Vision is provisioned. It was an=20
entirely "backoffice" change, but it was done cold turkey. So far as=20
I can determine, we *had* to do it, but it cause very significant=20
    problems.

Secondly, we launched Ready Link. While the number of calls on this=20
was relatively small, it still generated excitement and adoption=20
among consumer and individual users significantly beyond our=20
expectations (this is not something we've been told directly. Only=20
something I've surmised from the way it keeps getting communicated=20
    internally as a business tool).

And, thirdly, we encountered a significantly higher than predicted=20
call volume over the past 3-4 months. This was a problem for several=20
reasons, and a couple of them not obvious. In the interest of=20
brevity, though, I'll simply say we're working on meeting that=20
    volume.

We also launched 2-way SMS, and VideoMail. Business Connection has=20
been upgraded twice (once just today)... so there's been a fairly=20
high amount of change in our system at the same time that we launched=20
two pretty radical changes to our network and introduced several=20
    others also.

It seems to be levelling off now. We've added quite a few new=20
specialists in our call centers, plus we're in a plateau right now in=20
terms of any major changes to the services we provide. So I think=20
we've *finally* caught up with a couple of the major call-drivers,=20
plus expanded (at least somewhat) our ability to take those calls.

So... now that I've made a short story long, I think, at least for=20
now, those hold times should be much more under control. Although=20
the Monday after Easter may be unusually heavy.

Another confession. Some of the other posters here have firmly denied
there are long hold times. Scott of adelphia gets mad at anyone who
suggests SprintPCS has long hold times.

Ron, just how long ago was it when you called, when you had a long hold
time? I only ask as I called a couple of times these past few months, to
finetune my plan, and to get some additional details for phone rebates, for
my three phones, and my wait time was negligible. Longest hold time was a
    minute or less.
