I'm interested in making my own ring tones for my Sprint
phone (VGA1000). I have decent audio software (Adobe Audition)
so I'm not looking for software. All I want to know is what
file format to save (and codec, if needed), and how to download
    to the phone.

Is there any information available on this?

go to http://www.futuredial.com, and see if their SNAPSYNC software
    works with your phone.

    12k mono .wav.

You'll then need the Qualcomm Purevoice converter.

Send the resulting file to your phone using one of the many free file
    upload utilities like

    good luck.

Why would she want to buy software when she stated she wants to use her own
    software?

Did you read the post, or just the subject line??
