Does anyone know if i have to pay all the taxes listed on my pcs bill? I can't really recall but i remember a few months ago someone said that not all the taxes were required by law. Can anyone help me out here with the taxes that must be paid and if ther
e is any the sprint throws on the bill? Any and all help is appreciated. I currently pay $30 in taxes alone that is why the question is asked. Thanks in advanced.

You can't pick and choose what you want to pay- if the charges for service
are correct, then the total balance is due and you are responsible for it.

Re: Sprintpcs billing and taxes.....

if i remember right it's not the taxes you don't have to pay, you have to
pay those, you get screwed no matter what. I know that many people were
talking about some of the surcharges that sprint themselves charge, some of
them I heard were not federally required so therefore you could try and
challenge them. I'm not sure if it is still true or what is going on with
them, but that is the last I heard of it.

No, not all of them are required, but the option to get out is=20
limited. Basically, only when they materially change. There was=20
some noise about this when SPCS implemented the WLNP cost recovery=20
fee. That's not a tax, It's a specific fee we're permitted to=20
implement as recovery against the costs of being forced to upgrade to=20
WLNP. But T&C's permit only about 30 days to protest. As I=20
understand it, you have until the end of the first full billing cycle=20
after such a change. After that, you've tacitly agreed to the=20
change.

Here's a good one, when I relocated back to Olympia, Wa last year, my
SprintPCS bill for my unlimited internet account, shows a 911 tax. My
Merlin C201 does not have any voice capability so how can I make a 911
call? I can't, that's the point. Trouble is, that is probably one of the
few devices that cannot make a voice call as I believe the Sierra cards
have headseat jacks in the PCMCIA card so they probably are not going to
make a billing plan for one device. I would love to hand my Merlin card to
someone and ask them how I can make a 911 call on it.
