I don't agree. For example, T-Mobile recently liberalized their handset
upgrade policy for existing customers. As a result, my son, a long time
customer, got a Sony Ericsson T610 with Bluetooth for only $99.99
from T-Mobile. And he doesn't have to commit to some high margin
extra cost 'Vision' service to qualify for the rebate.

For the umpteenth time, Vision is *not* an all-or-nothing proposition.
Also, non-Vision phones tend to be 'low end' with fewer features and
less attractive styling.

That is an issue with the rebate and NOT an issue with the cost of
service. The change in rebate has absolutely NO effect on the month to
month cost of service. If it makes a difference to a user that they can
not get a REBATE on a phone in two years, than that is a separate issue
that has absolutely nothing to do with current phone, contract or
service.

Also Sprint PCS is also going with what Rob was previously incorrectly
doing. From now on, after 90 days, any plan changes requires restarting
a 2 year contract.

That's a 'straw man' argument.
I never stated that the new handset upgrade rebate policy represented an
increase in the monthly cost of service. But, if I don't get a $150 rebate
18 months from the last handset upgrade, my wallet will be a lot lighter!
Net result is the same, whether you call it a denial of rebate or choose to
amortize it as an increase in the monthly price of service.

You get a free 2 month trial when you upgrade to a vision divice
though the upgrade program, when you get your rebate check just
cancel Vision (all the rebate checks my stores have heard about have
come in 4-6 weeks). Not an extra penny spent unless you paid for any
downloads.
Where's the increase?
(And yes, that has been verified by a few store managers and at least
6 sales reps)

I disagree that it's a price increase.
I also am glad to see that I can cancel after I get paid I am planning
on using the free Vision trial when I set up my second line, but am not sure
it's something I want to pay for long-term.

John, I don't understand why you are *****ing so much ... First off, no one
knows what will be offered in the future. You did see the new PR today ...
didn't you? It's a new change with SPCS.
You keep harping on this friggin future rebate. Will it be the same
qualifications in 18 months or so? I don't know. I know that the prior
rebate, which is still current by the way ...
http://www.sprintrebates.com/track/s...ramPopup.shtml
does not require that you have had 18 months of Vision service. I also know
that SPCS mentioned in today's PR, there was no mention of having Vision for
18 prior months to qualify for a rebate.
I've yet to see any concrete proof that any future rebate will demand having
Vision on the account for 18 continual months, save for one poster here who
mentioned it as to a Radio Shack purchase ... Have YOU seen anything to
confirm that, outside of this newsgroup?
Either show some proof of all this talk on the requirements of having to had
continual Vision service for 18 months or get off of it. Plain and simple...

Read what I wrote.
IT IS A PRICE INCREASE !! ONE IS NOW REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN VISION 2 $270
to qualify for a $150 rebate in 18 months?

Then Osiris is wrong or lying? He said he was told multiple times one
must maintain Vision or next time you will be ineligible for the rebate.
IT IS A PRICE INCREASE !! ONE IS NOW REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN VISION 2
$270 to qualify for a $150 rebate in 18 months?
