May '04 - Let's make it DON'T FEED THE TROLLS MONTH!!

Let's all resist feeding the trolls this month!

Lets all agree:
1) DO NOT respond directly to any of the trolls!

2) If anyone sees someone led astray by a troll, address the person led
astray, WITHOUT ACKNOWLEDGING THE EXISTANCE of the troll(s).

3) Irregardless of the poking, prodding, personal snipping, pot-shots ,etc
..etc. resist the urge to respond to the troll!

4) ONLY EXCEPTION: If a troll appears under a new identity, don't respond to
the post, but rather make a new post: with a simple subject like
TROLL ID CHANGE
NEW TROLL SIGHTING
and text like
- It looks like asdad (dsfdsfdss@dsadd.com) is a troll
-or-
- AAAA has new alias of pppppp

Give the person NO more attention than that!!!

Let's stop running the newsgroup by their rules and doing their bidding
and restore this group to a place where:
- SPRINTPCS info and data is discussed in a civil manner
- Personalities and pettiness are left at the other end of the keyboard.

Sounds like a real good idea Joe. I stopped replying to Justin before he
got his 'anonymous' last year and can do it w/Phillippe/RobertM/nebby00007,
etc. Philly can go to the other newsgroups he is polluting. I'm going to
copy your post and put it on my desktop to get the right response for each
instance.

I'm surprised this place hasn't been invaded by one of the troll groups. It
would be a killing field.

Usage: Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early
20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention
of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark
about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. It
is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to
time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is
still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.
