Get rid of your Mac and get a decent email/newsreader that will post the

The last few days, in this newsgroup, have been relatively civil.
Are you *trying* to stir up trouble?
If so, it'd be greatly appreciated if you didn't.
Thanks!

Re: Morons posting broken hyperlinks
He causes enough trouble with his constant ID changes, answers himself as if
someone agrees with him, posts damaging negative partial information (when
the rest is vastly more positive), points people to Executive Services,
state Attorney Generals, the FCC before people have not completely taken all
the available avenues in SPCS. Last, but not least he knows that his
hyperlinks are broken and posts them to piss people off with impunity.

Again, things during the last few days have improved.
Let's give it a chance.
As far as the incomplete links go, while I don't *think* it's being
done intentionally, might I suggest, to all, using something like
http://ww.tinyurl.com/ if there's any question as to whether or not
a link is too long.
Thanks!

Re: Morons posting broken hyperlinks
He knows about the links since he replied to me a few months ago about the
no good link, that you had to copy and paste the last part that wasn't
hyperlinked. Tinyurl has been around for a while and I would guess that it
works with a Mac so he should try it. Since he's mister (k)no(w)-it all,
I'd say it's being done with impunity.

Is this how you ignore people you label as trolls and try to clean up
the newsgroup? Strange, but I don't think posting this will work.

Re: Morons posting broken hyperlinks
He knows his links are broken and unusable as hyperlinks, but he persists in
sending them so that one of his ID's can tell you to copy/paste the whole
URL. Thereby getting his name 'up in lights' another time. The only way he
will leave is the same as Justin last summer-do an anonymous with home
address/phone/work #/boss' name/phone, etc.

You consider Outlook Express to be a "decent email/newsreader"? I
suspected it long before I looked at the full header. My first tip was the
top posting. OE6 is not exactly a world class newsreader, it merely is
able to read and post news. What does the OS have to do with it anyway? OE
is not limited to a Windows PC you know. Pan is sooo much better as far as
the usenet goes and yes, I use it on many OS's including Windows. For
email, there are a plethora of superior clients as well in that arena.

OE may not suit everyone, but at least it can post an unbroken =
hyperlink.

My biggest complaint, about OE, is its vulnerability to virus/worm/whatever
attacks.

I'm a beta tester for OE, and have used it extensively since the early =
days
when it was called Internet Mail and News (4/95). Because of its =
popularity
(included with Windows) it's a magnet for every virus writer.
Nevertheless, I receive over 300 emails per day and have never caught a
virus. The simple secret is to practice safe computing by never opening
suspicious attachments, and timely installation of Windows Update =
patches.

Unfortunately, not everyone is as diligent as you in patching. I'd imagine
that you check for patches FAR more frequently than the average user.
And, as one poster said, the patches are frequently applied AFTER the attack.

This is getting far off-topic, but I can't resist a few more comments.
1. Service Pack 2 for XP (which I'm beta testing) will make Windows =
Updates
virtually mandatory and fully automatic.
2. Microsoft typically releases a patch well in advance of an exploit. =
For=20
example, the current Sasser worm attack was patched on April 13.
