    There are valid reasons.

    Like, the $30/300 plan my wife uses fits her just perfectly, and there
    is no way I'm going to screw that up by forcing her to share minutes and
    dump her plan that hasn't been offered in almost two years. Therefore, my
    phone will be on the same account, but will be a completely separate line.

    Oh, I can understand that Steven. The point I was making is that because
    Larry has 3 different plans, he doesn't qualify for the rebates, under the
    conditions set down by SPCS, even if he spends $100 / mo. for cellular
    service for his family.

    No, it doesn't. One requirement is that you keep the number on the same
    phone for 18 months, uninterrupted.
