Does anyone have any actual, direct experience with any of these data cables
for the Toshiba VM-4050, and with the software that comes bundled with any
of them? Are they all pretty much the same, interchangeable and usable with
all phone-PC apps, including web access, contact and calendar syncing,
    picture and ringtone downloads, etc.?

Any reason that this and some of my other recent postings have gone
unresponded to? I realize that I've asked these questions before, but have
yet to get conclusive answers, except claims that no cables are as yet
available for this phone, which, as these links demonstrate, is no longer
true. Although it may appear that I'm trolling, I'm really just trying to
get some answers to what I think are some legitimate questions. And yes,
I've googled and haven't found anything very useful.

Don't take it so personally! :-) I don't think that these cables are
actually released for sale yet. If you add the mobile kit to your cart at
Your Wireless Source (one of the links you provided) and then look at your
cart, you'll see that the kit is not in stock. The other site that I've been
monitoring, www.wirelessphonegallery.com, states that the mobile office kit
won't be available until June 15. Of course, they also told me that it would
be available in early May, and then early June, so who knows when it will
    actually be released?

Actually, it appears that the cable itself is available from each of these
sites, but w/o software and not in kit form. Not sure if they all sell the
same basic cable, or if there are differences between them. Not sure what
kinds of differences could exist, but I'm just trying to make sure.

Any new information on data transfer capability for this phone? I
recently bought a USB cable off eBay, but can't find any software that
    will transfer pictures, ringtones, etc.

From the description, the Data Connectivity Kit #17197 from
rpiwireless.net seems to support picture transfer, but AFAIK no
company has been able to hack into the data portion of the phone yet.

    What have you guys heard?

You might try the following sites and see whether they support your phone
model and have the capability to transfer pictures & ringtones.

    www.susteen.com
    www.futuredial.com
    www.bitpim.org
