SprintPCS generally will only activate SprintPCS branded cell phones.

That is absolutely correct. One could come to that conclusion that you
could activate a Virgin Mobile phone on a Sprint PCS contract plan, but
VM uses different phone software and its web browser would be
incompatible with what Sprint offers now.
