Does Sprint provide the service of a message to callers that one's (sprint) cell # has changed ? In other words, if someone has lived in Florida for years, then switches to Sprint. But keeps her previous cell phone number from T-Mobile. Then relocates to California a few months later wishes to change over to a Los Angeles area code number. Would or does Sprint have any kind of a recording which tells callers, for say a month or so, that the phone number has changed and tell them the new phone number ? Thanks, J.B. | ||||

Short answer: no. There's no *requirement* with SPCS that you must=20 change the number. Thanks, My question is whether Sprint does or will offer a message, as does one's local land line company, simply informing callers to the "former/old" phone number and tell them what the new number is. Isn't the point to keep the number coming in? Under that=20 guideline, I don't get what you're saying. The number would be=20 changed anyway, because the customer is WANTING to change it to one=20 from another carrier. It *is* a port. First we match the existing number to the service=20 area for the one being moved over. Then the desired number is moved=20 over. My wife kept her Dallas number for well over 2 years when she lived in Fayetteville, NC and never heard anything from the cellular company. I have been in NY, NC, and now LA for almost a year and went to paperless billing. The subject of area of usage has never come up. this can all be handled by Vonage IP phone, it'll add a few bucks to your monthly telcom total, but it's a neat service for just these sorts of things. "J.
